Australia, April 23, 2008 - Writer Robert E. Howard – or "Two-Gun Bob" as he was known to his friends – created the literary character known as Conan the Barbarian in 1932. Howard's use of dense, dark prose and rich, fantastic imagery has been credited by many with starting the Sword-and-Sorcery sub-genre. Something that has been a bountiful, creative well for other mediums. We've had multiple Conan books, numerous comic book incarnations, two movies – Conan the Barbarian (quite good) and Conan the Destroyer (quite shit) and of course, Conan games. THQ, for example, released a Conan action game in 2007 on consoles and provided a divertingly violent, if shallow and derivative experience.
